Cody was born in Jacksonville, Florida and is a native of Callahan. He has been the pastor of First Baptist Church of Gray Gables since July 2016.

He previously served as a youth pastor at Crosspointe Baptist Church in Millington, Tennessee where he was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in August 2014. Cody earned his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.

He and his wife, Amy, have been married since 2014. They have three beautiful children: two daughters (Adalyn and Penny) and one son (Emmett).
